“Our protest must shortcircuit the fossil fuel interests…”

Read this powerful article by Bill McKibben that was published in The Guardian yesterday. McKibben makes several brilliant arguments about why we need climate action now. We can’t wait for political legislation. The fossil industry is rogue, and the grassroots environmental movement is trying to reign it in. Read the whole article, but this paragraph was very poignant to me:

“We could postpone healthcare reform a decade, and the cost would be terrible – all the suffering not responded to over those 10 years. But when we returned to it, the problem would be about the same size. With climate change, unless we act fairly soon in response to the timetable set by physics, there’s not much reason to act at all.”
